One thing that I (Haley) struggle with is feeling helpless when I know my friends are struggling. There is a specific kind of "ouch" that my heart feels when a human so full of brilliance and beauty continue to feel like they are not __________ enough and I can't seem to say anything to break through that wall. Thin enough, young enough, smart enough, brave enough- I'm sure you could think of some others more easily than you may admit. But here's the thing my friends... those thoughts are the product of misogynistic capitalism! If/When we can release ourselves from the societal pressures we have been indoctrinated with through generations of strategic marketing, we can truly celebrate the diverse beauty all around (and within) us. It's easy to compare ourselves to other. But the truth is that there IS room for everyone here to exist in their own kind of beauty... including you my fellow human.
